How to leave gh0stcloud

Notice periods, your data and your credit, in case you ever want to move elsewhere.

Can I leave again, and what do I take with me?

A vertical line separates “Yours” from “Ours”. Three tiles stand on the “Ours” side and return one by one to the “Yours” side: Your applications (None of it is tied to us.), Your data (Export your data before the contract ends.), Your credit (Credit you paid for and did not use is refunded at the end of the contract on request.). Then, on the right, under “What leaving costs”: There is no exit fee. You pay for what you used until the contract ends and, for Managed Apps, the service fee until the end of the minimum term.

A provider you cannot leave is not a good provider. This page describes how leaving works, so you know before you start.

Notice periods

  • Consumers can terminate at any time with one month's notice, online with the termination button and without signing in.
  • Business customers can also cancel gh0stcloud self-service at any time with one month's notice.
  • Managed Apps have a minimum term of three months per instance, counted from the handover day, and can then be terminated at any time with effect from the end of a month.
  • Dedicated resources such as server pools and addresses of your own can be terminated at any time in the portal. We remove them right after the termination; the fee runs to the end of the month, at the earliest to the end of a minimum term stated in the quote. IP addresses of your own cannot be taken to another provider.
  • Email: retrieve your messages via IMAP before you switch. Your domains stay yours; for the new provider, you change the DNS records at your DNS provider.

Your applications

In self-service, what runs on gh0stcloud is described by your own container images, Helm charts and Git repository. None of it is tied to us. The same images run anywhere containers run, and the same charts on any Kubernetes cluster.

You export the data of the applications you operate yourself with your own tools. When the contract for a Managed App ends, you receive an export in its native format: a dump for databases, plus the files for web applications. If you want our help moving to another provider, we agree the effort with you beforehand.

Your data

Export your data before the contract ends. After it ends, customer data is deleted once the retention period shown in the portal has passed. Invoices and accounting records are kept for the statutory periods.

Your credit

Credit you paid for and did not use is refunded at the end of the contract on request, to the payment method it came from. Promotional credit, such as the starting credit, is not paid out.

What leaving costs

There is no exit fee. You pay for what you used until the contract ends and, for Managed Apps, the service fee until the end of the minimum term.
